Sherri Dotter
Salon Consultant
Sherri serves SSBC as a Summit Salon Consultant. She has dedicated her career to the beauty industry for 25 years. Initially, she attended cosmetology school as a means to put herself through college and as a back-up plan. After graduating from California State University, Chico with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, she completed the Merchandise Management Training Program with JCPenney. Recognizing she missed the beauty industry, she left JCP and became a manager of a beauty supply and salon. This is when she realized “All my experience, education and training came together to make me perfectly suited to own my own salon and retail center.” This is when her back-up plan became The Plan. Subsequently, she opened her salon and retail center in 1996. She did so well, she opened a second location in 2004. But in 2008 when the housing market collapsed, she felt the economic downturn so acutely that for the first time she had to transfer funds from her savings to her business checking. Her salon sales consultant recommended the Summit Salon Business College. She learned a great deal about making a profitable salon business and was able to turn her salons around. She says “I owe it all to Summit Salon. They not only helped me save my businesses but put me on a path to enjoy a successful salon business. I truly do learn, earn and live a better life.” She is grateful to be able to share the business principles that Summit Salon and their consultants have taught her over the last 10 years, “I get an opportunity to pay it forward!”
