Jillian Chambers
Salon Coach | Canada
I've been in the beauty industry for quite some time now, and I absolutely love how it's always evolving and changing. Despite being quiet, shy, and non-confrontational, I decided to open my own business because I knew there was more to this industry than what I had experienced. Attending Summit gave me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone and coach my team into better systems and financial freedom, which has been incredibly rewarding.
I started my career as a hairstylist, working for other salon companies for almost ten years before opening my salon in 2007. Since then, I've had the opportunity to travel to Berlin, Rome, Paris, and more with L'Oreal Professionnel, which has been a fantastic experience. I come from a family of business owners and have always had a passion for entrepreneurship.
Aside from my work, I'm also very involved in my community. I volunteer and give back whenever possible, including organizing a free Christmas meal for 1000 people every year (a tradition started by my dad 32 years ago). I also host two events yearly to support grieving parents in our community, as I unfortunately lost one of my sons in 2015. In his memory, I started a fundraising campaign that has raised over $200k for our Special Care Nursery.
I bought my first house at 19 and my first commercial building at 29. I also started my pilot's license because I don't particularly appreciate sitting in Toronto traffic. One of my greatest professional honors was winning the Young Entrepreneur Award in our city when I was 28.
